Lily Berthold is an operatic soprano based out of the Los Angeles area. After making her semi-professional debut in the summer of 2023 as Die Zauberflöte’s ill-fated heroine Pamina, Lily has quickly become an in demand singer. The young soprano is making her mark on the opera scene throughout California, having performed as a soloist with many notable opera organizations statewide (Pacific Lyric Association, Opera SLO, Mission Opera, Lyric Opera OC, & more). Lily made multiple role debuts in the ‘23/’24 season, including: Adina (L’elisir d’amore), Valencienne (The Merry Widow), Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), Suor Genovieffa (Suor Angelica), & Annina (La Traviata). Lily was the first prize winner of the prestigious Sigma Alpha Iota PAC aria competition in March 2024, she also won third place in the Emerging Artists division of the Randy Nelson Vocal Competition in April 2024. The upcoming ‘24-’25 season will see more role debuts from Lily: Maestra Delle Novizie (Suor Angelica) with Lyric Opera OC, originating the role of L’Attavanti (Meanwhile Back at Mario’s) by Dr. Robert Chauls, and originating the role of Rebecca (The Camp) by Dr. Daniel Kessner.
